Cookie policy
The short version: nothing that tracks you is set unless you say yes, and saying no costs you nothing. The site works exactly the same either way.

Cookies this site sets
The first time you visit, the site asks whether you’re happy for it to use Google Analytics. Depending on your answer, it sets these:
- cb_consent remembers your answer, yes or no, so you’re not asked on every page. It lasts 180 days whichever you choose. It’s only set once you answer: closing the question without choosing sets nothing, and you’ll be asked again on the next page.
- _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID are Google Analytics cookies, set only if you say yes. They let the analytics tell one visit from another, so I can see which pages people find useful. Google sets them to last up to two years.
Say no and nothing is loaded from Google Analytics at all, and nothing but your answer is stored. No advertising trackers, no preference cookies.
Who runs the analytics
The Google Analytics account is run by me, Castleberg Digital, on my own Google account. It shows me totals: how many visits, which pages, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. I don’t use it for advertising.
Changing your mind
Use Change your cookie choice at the bottom of any page. The site forgets your answer, clears the Google Analytics cookies, and asks you again.
Third-party services
One embedded service on this site operates under its own policy:
- Google Fonts serves this site's typefaces. It doesn't set cookies, but your browser does request font files from Google's servers, which see your IP address as part of that request.
If this ever changes
If anything else that sets cookies is added to this site, this page is updated first, and nothing new is set without asking you.
